Frequently asked questions

What do I need to know about renting?

What are the benefits of renting baby clothes?

Because you only pay for the time you use the clothing, instead of their full lifespan, you'll benefit financially.

You'll make a positive impact on the environment by choosing a durable and sustainable fashion solution.

When your baby outgrows their clothing, you just send them back to us, this saves you a lot of effort of organizing or reselling them.

Do I have to commit to anything?

There is a minimum rental time of two months. That's it!

I’d like to cancel the service, what do I have to do?

That’s sad news! But you simply need to email us at erik@red-orka.com to let us know. We have a one month notice period. Note, in this last month you can still use the items before sending them back.

Products

Are used clothes any good?

No, they are the best! We ensure that each item is carefully checked on size, wear and tear, quality and stains. If it doesn’t fit our high-quality standards, we make sure to recycle the fabric for new quality products.

Is the babywear of good quality?

We offer products that have been made with attention to quality.

Because you know, the better the product, the longer it lasts, and the fewer new products need to be made.

Is the babywear safe to wear?

Yes, we chose materials that are soft and gentle for your baby’s skin. Most of the items you'll find are made from 100% cotton. In the production process there were no toxins used.

Sustainability

Is the babywear on Red Orka 100% sustainable?

They are as sustainable as possible. Due to the high-quality of biological cotton, each item can be 100% recycled. But we are not there yet. We still use water to clean them. However, it is the only method to make sure your babies enjoy the highest standard of hygiene. But at the end of the day, it does less harm to wash and reuse our rompers than it does to produce completely new ones.

Is the process of washing sustainable?

Because we use water in the wash process, it isn’t the most sustainable. However, it is the only method to make sure your babies enjoy the highest standard of hygiene. And at the end of the day it does do less harm to wash and reuse them, than it does to produce completely new ones.

Is the delivery sustainable?

No. Sadly CO2 free delivery is still in development and is only financially achievable with large orders. Because we are a small company it's not accessible for us yet. We are motivated to improve the swapping element of our business as soon as it's possible.

Nonetheless, we are proud to say that compared to a regular online shop we are a more sustainable choice.

Circular

What is circularity?

The circular economy is a model of production and consumption, which involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products as long as possible. In this way, the life cycle of products is extended.

This is a departure from the traditional, linear economic model, which is based on a take-make-consume-throw-away pattern. This model relies on large quantities of cheap, easily accessible materials and energy.

What does Red Orka do to be circular?

We do serveral things to move towards a closed circle:

1. Re-use all clothing items

2. Re-pair broken clothing items

2. Use recyced fibers such as polyester and cotton or other fibers

3. By recylcing all our clothings and giving them new purpose

4. Re-use our packaging

What are your circular goals?

There is one goal and that is to become a minimal waste company. We want to make a positive impact on the environment and all living beings.
